Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lila who lived in a small village in Ireland. Lila was always afraid of ghosts and would never go out after dark. She would often hear strange noises in her house and would be too scared to investigate.
One day, Lila’s grandmother told her about the festival of Samhain, which was celebrated by their ancestors to honor the dead. She explained that on Samhain, the veil between the living and the dead was thin, and the spirits of their ancestors could come back to visit them.
Lila was skeptical at first, but her grandmother encouraged her to try and communicate with their ancestors. She told Lila to light a candle and place it in the window of their house on the night of Samhain. She also gave her a bowl of apples, which were said to be a favorite of the spirits.
That night, Lila lit the candle and placed the bowl of apples in the window. She sat down and closed her eyes, trying to clear her mind. Suddenly, she felt a cold breeze and heard a whisper in her ear. It was her great-grandmother, who had passed away many years ago.
Lila was amazed and asked her great-grandmother many questions. She learned about her family’s history and the struggles they had faced. She also learned that her great-grandmother had been afraid of ghosts too when she was alive.
After that night, Lila was no longer afraid of ghosts. She knew that her ancestors were watching over her and that they would always be there to guide her. She looked forward to the next Samhain, when she could talk to her great-grandmother again.
